In God We Trust - Paul Wright
By Upcast | Published 09 May 2007 | life

I have a quick second to write something I have learned in between coming home and leaving again for a flight. This has really meant a lot to me so I wanted to share it with you. I have been leaning on the proverb: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

In acknowledging the Lord and crying out to Him with all my heart I feel like he has directed me to honor Him. I think the two go hand in hand. You are not trusting in God if you aren't honoring Him. When I acknowledge Him I am saying Lord what is your will? Lord what is it you want me to do? Or more importantly who am I to be?

In the midst of life's crossroads, new opportunities, relationships and dreams I am encouraged to acknowledge God. I think this is where we have gone wrong as a nation. We have printed 'In God We Trust' on our money but not in our hearts.

God wants to bless you. God wants the best for you. But keep in mind the best from God's point of view might not look like it to you. So trust. Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Right on Paul. I couldn't agree more.

Our understanding and view as humans is emphatically tainted.

Christ's View VS. The World View

The world says in order to be first, you must be selfish.

God says if you want to become first, you must be last.

Total inversion.

If we can stop looking at the world through the eyes of the world and start looking at everything through the eyes of Christ that is when we will stop leaning on our own understanding.

That is when we will truly start understanding the heart of God... and it will be at that time when He is acknowledged that our paths WILL be made straight.

God's plans for our lives are not usually what we "dreamed" for... but when He paves the road we will walk along our lives become proliferated... spreading Him to everything we come in contact with.... and it becomes more amazing than anything we could have dreamed.
