Solving World Hunger with Phone Sex

Solving World Hunger with Phone Sex

Well it hasn’t yet but it could stop world hunger or at least come close

People pay $2.99 per minute to have some perverted phone sex and it only cost 60 to 70 cents per day to keep a person from starving.
2 hours of phone sex could pay for 512 people to not go hungry for one whole day.
According to Family Safe Media, professional phone sex generates $4.5 billion in revenue annually. Broken down that would feed 17,612,524 people for an entire year!
The World Bank says that their are approximately 2.8 billion people in poverty today. Ok I have to admit that the revenue from something so stupid as phone sex wont solve world hunger but it will take a giant chunk out of it.

17.6 Million lives is not a joke and I’d go as far as saying that I can bet everyone of us spend time and money each day on foolish things when we could just take this world problem seriously and make a difference.

I’m not just talking about physical hunger here. You and me are guilty of letting sin get in our way of sharing and showing God’s love to a needy world.
Maybe we need to take a look at our priorities and see that we’re looking out for Number One trying to make sure that we’re entertained when we should all be taking care of those that can’t even help themselves.

I’m not telling you to sell all of your belongings and give them to the poor (well that may not be a bad idea) but we can at least start with a small sacrifice.

If you knew someone that could save another persons life by giving up phone sex, would you get mad at them for not giving it up? Heck ya I would.
Why can’t we give up something to save a life?
Start the change today because tomorrows right around the corner and thats 22,000 people dead from starving today.

That's a crazy angle dude. But true. I think all the time about how stupidly we spend our money in this world. It's utterly ridiculous.

Someday hopefully people will see the need for real. Not just hear about go "Ohhhh that's so sad" and then continue on with their daily living. They'll see the need for Jesus and foor food and they'll get off their self-centered breadbaskets and help with it.

You should read my blog "This machine we call church"

Let me know what you think. It's along the same lines as this.

Later man.

Dude, you're right on with this blog(major props). It is way hard for us (as Americans) to see outside our daily routines and comfort zones to notice what is really going on all over the world. Sometimes it takes a first hand experience for people to notice how poverty stricken the rest of the world really is, and how spiritually poverty is more common place here in America than the material poverty. Keep doing what you're doing(both music and message!).

mmm starbucks... I leave that for the trips to barnes and noble.

I've pitched this article idea to relevant magazine so lets see how it goes :-)
I'm just trying to bring some self reflection to a unaware world.

Exactly what God's been confirming in me the last few weeks. We are a selfish nation.

God, show us all what it means to be your disciples

and phone sex is the only the tip of that kind of stuff...apparently the pornography industry makes more annually than all the major networks put together! but im not sure i could give up starbucks for forever! ponder.....

I wonder…if even just redeemed people (who once had such addictions) donated to Christian Recovery Ministries like Open Door, Pure Life Ministries, His Mansion Ministries, Mercy Ministries, the Fold, even Keswick, and such…how many could be reached? How many lies could be exposed? How many could be set free by the Truth…I wonder :)
Oh...and good point on the starting today...
